Memorandum by the Colonial Treasurer,

1. Assuming it to be decided that the Post
Office and the Treasury are to be rebuilt on the site now
occupied by those Departments and by the Supreme Court House, two schemes are open for acoption, of which the first A
embraces the purchase of Beaconsfield and the building of
a Treasury and Post Office only on the old site, and the se-

cond contemplates the erection of more offices than the
Treasury and Post Office on the old site.
